Encouraged by an impressive export sales in the first quarter of 1990, thirty (30) small exporters initiated the move to organize themselves with the support of the Department of Trade and Industry - Cebu Provincial Office (DTI-CPO). In 1991, the Cebu Gifts, Toys and Houseware Manufacturers and Exporters Association, Inc. (Cebu-GTH) was registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). The organization’s theme at that time was to “Organize for Growth”. It adopted various program to strengthen the organization and preserve the gains achieved by the sector.

 
Brief Background of the Organization

·         is a non-stock, non-profit organization registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in October 16, 1991.

·         was changed into a foundation in September 2006, the new name is Cebu Gifts, Toys and Houseware Foundation (Cebu-GTH), Inc.

·         recognized as a business support organization by both the government and private institutions representing the home accessory sector.

·         composed of 90 members located in the cities of Cebu, Mandaue, Lapulapu, Talisay, the municipality of Minglanilla and five companies from Luzon

·         product coverage includes home decorations and accent pieces, furnishings, housewares, gifts and novelty items, and toys.

·         a number of members are major sources of popular stores and importers from USA, Canada, Japan, Australia, Italy, Germany and Netherlands.
